Hyundai Australia has confirmed that its latest Digital Key 2 technology will soon be available across some of the brand’s biggest SUVs – including the Santa Fe, Tucson and Palisade – with rollout to be completed by the end of 2025.

At Tynan Hyundai Kirrawee, this innovation represents another step forward in making Hyundai ownership smarter, safer, and more convenient for drivers across the Sutherland Shire and beyond.

What is Hyundai Digital Key 2?

Hyundai’s Digital Key 2 allows you to:

  • Lock, unlock and start your Hyundai using a compatible smartphone or smartwatch.
  • Store your digital key in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet.
  • Share access with up to 15 other devices, complete with restrictions if required.

The feature operates using Ultra-Wideband (UWB) or Bluetooth Low Energy connections, meaning you don’t need to take your phone out of your pocket. For devices without UWB, Near Field Communication (NFC) can be used, requiring a tap of your phone or watch on the door handle or wireless charger.

Which Hyundai Models Are Getting It?

Digital Key 2 debuted locally on the Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV earlier this year. Now, the technology is expanding across Hyundai’s largest SUVs in Australia:

  • ✅ 2026 Hyundai Tucson (MY26) – already available with Digital Key 2
  • ✅ Next-generation Hyundai Palisade – arriving late 2025
  • ✅ Updated 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe – due in showrooms by the end of 2025

It has not yet been announced for smaller Hyundai models such as the Kona, i30 Sedan or Ioniq 5, though Hyundai has confirmed a gradual rollout to other models in the future.

Smarter Tech with Hyundai Bluelink

Digital Key 2 forms part of Hyundai’s Bluelink connected-car suite, which has been available in Australia since 2022. Every new Hyundai equipped with Digital Key 2 includes five years of complimentary Bluelink services from first registration.

Bluelink already provides features such as:

  • Remote vehicle lock/unlock
  • Real-time vehicle health checks
  • Location services and tracking
  • Emergency SOS calls

With Digital Key 2, Hyundai has taken connected driving to the next level.

Why It Matters for Tynan Hyundai Drivers

At Tynan Hyundai Kirrawee, we know our customers value both safety and convenience. With Digital Key 2, losing your physical key or juggling spares is no longer a worry. Families can share access easily, while tech-savvy drivers can enjoy the same digital convenience they use in their daily lives – directly from their wrist or smartphone.

The arrival of Hyundai Digital Key 2 in Australia is a sign of where the future of driving is headed: more connected, more seamless, and more secure.
